Trading a FundedSeat Account in NinjaTrader 8

FundedSeat issues Rithmic credentials but publishes no native NinjaTrader route. Here is how a FundedSeat account trades in NinjaTrader 8 with the add-on.

Yes — a FundedSeat account trades in NinjaTrader 8. FundedSeat issues Rithmic credentials with every account, and while the firm’s own platform lineup does not include a native NinjaTrader route, PropFirmConnector supplies that connection. Install the add-on, select FundedSeat, sign in with the firm-issued Rithmic username and password, and the account is live in NinjaTrader.

What FundedSeat gives you

FundedSeat’s Supported Trading Platforms article, last updated May 20, 2026, lists the platforms the firm documents and how each one reaches your account:

PlatformHow it connects
Rithmic R|Trader ProIncluded with the Rithmic data feed
TradeseaIncluded
Volumetrica — DeepChartsIncluded with dxFeed
QuantowerThrough dxFeed
ATASThrough dxFeed
EdgePro X, Finamark, MotiveWave, Sierra Chart, VolFixThrough the Rithmic data feed
BookMapThrough the Rithmic data feed; requires Level 2 market depth

Two separate feeds sit behind that list. Some platforms come in over dxFeed; the rest use the Rithmic credentials the firm issues when the account is provisioned. FundedSeat’s own new-user setup guides tell you to sign in with System set to Rithmic Paper Trading and Gateway set to Chicago Area — the same pair of values on Windows, macOS, web, and mobile.

Those Rithmic credentials are the important part, because they are what NinjaTrader works with.

Why NinjaTrader takes an add-on here

NinjaTrader’s built-in Rithmic connection reaches the Rithmic systems it ships in its own System dropdown, and FundedSeat is not one of them. Its connection guide offers a generic fallback — “If your provider is not listed in the System dropdown, select the ‘Rithmic Paper Trading’ system nearest to your location” — but that fallback does not carry a FundedSeat login onto the platform.

That is the gap PropFirmConnector fills: it adds FundedSeat as a selectable connection inside NinjaTrader 8, so the credentials the firm already gave you work in the platform you already use. The FundedSeat connection guide walks through the setup step by step.

FundedSeat’s own documentation is worth reading first, for two reasons. It states that “NinjaTrader/Tradovate is not supported at the moment,” which is why no native route exists. And it sets expectations about support:

“If you choose to use a third-party trading platform, you do so at your own discretion. FundedSeat does not provide support for issues arising from their use and is not liable for any resulting errors, disruptions, or failures.”

In practice that means the connection is yours to run — FundedSeat’s support desk is scoped to the platforms in the table above, so setup questions go to the add-on’s support, not the firm’s.

Running more than one FundedSeat account

FundedSeat lets a trader hold up to five funded accounts at once, which runs into a NinjaTrader limit that applies to every Rithmic firm, not just this one. NinjaTrader’s own support article states: “It is not possible to maintain two simultaneous Rithmic connections on the NinjaTrader Desktop app.”

One Rithmic login per instance is the platform’s documented ceiling, whatever firm the login came from. PropFirmConnector connects several Rithmic logins in a single NinjaTrader instance — multiple FundedSeat accounts, or FundedSeat alongside accounts from other Rithmic firms — which is what makes managing all five in one place practical.

Rules worth reading before you set anything up

Three of FundedSeat’s published rules matter for how you configure a platform, and all three are the firm’s wording, not ours:

  • Copy trading across your own accounts is permitted, including with third-party copiers, “provided that all accounts belong to and are actively traded by the same individual.” Copying another trader, or having someone else manage your account, is prohibited.
  • Automation is prohibited — the rules name “Bots or any form of automated/algorithmic trading, including EAs.” A connection add-on is not automation, but anything that places orders on your behalf is a different question, and it’s the firm’s to answer.
  • Device sharing and third-party account management are prohibited, as is VPN use during trading sessions.

Rules change. Confirm anything you plan to rely on with FundedSeat support in writing before you trade on it — a written answer from the firm beats any third-party summary, this one included.

Common questions

Can I trade a FundedSeat account in NinjaTrader 8? Yes, with PropFirmConnector. FundedSeat issues Rithmic credentials but publishes no native NinjaTrader route, so the add-on supplies the connection. The connection guide covers the setup.

Does FundedSeat use Rithmic? Yes, for most of its platform list. The firm issues a Rithmic username and password per account and documents System “Rithmic Paper Trading” with the Chicago Area gateway. A few platforms come in over dxFeed instead.

Does FundedSeat support NinjaTrader natively? No — its platform documentation says “NinjaTrader/Tradovate is not supported at the moment,” and the firm is not listed on NinjaTrader Prop. Its documented platforms are R|Trader Pro, Tradesea, DeepCharts, Quantower, ATAS, and several Rithmic-feed charting packages.

Can I run several FundedSeat accounts in one NinjaTrader? Yes, with the add-on. NinjaTrader on its own maintains a single Rithmic connection at a time, which is the constraint multi-account traders hit first — FundedSeat allows up to five funded accounts.

Will FundedSeat help me if my NinjaTrader setup breaks? No. The firm states that third-party platform use is at your own discretion and that it does not provide support or accept liability for it, so support for the connection comes from the add-on side.

PropFirmConnector is an independent NinjaTrader add-on. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FundedSeat, NinjaTrader, or Rithmic.
