AMP Futures & Ironbeam in NinjaTrader: Live Rithmic

Yes—you can trade a live AMP Futures or Ironbeam Rithmic account in NinjaTrader 8 with PropFirmConnector. A brand-new, free NinjaTrader account works. You do not need a grandfathered NinjaTrader license.

Your brokerage account stays with your broker. PropFirmConnector adds the connection inside NinjaTrader Desktop, using your live Rithmic credentials and Rithmic 01 (Chicago).

No grandfathered NinjaTrader license required

Old answers about AMP and NinjaTrader usually describe a legacy brokerage connection. AMP’s policy stopped offering NinjaTrader to new customers after March 10, 2015. Its April 10, 2026 update adds that AMP cannot enable new NinjaTrader setups even when a trader meets its grandfathered-license criteria.

The PropFirmConnector setup does not require that legacy access. Create a free NinjaTrader account, install NinjaTrader 8 Desktop and use the addon to connect your live Rithmic login. You do not need to find an old license key or buy a NinjaTrader Lifetime or Multi-Broker license for this setup.

The free account is your NinjaTrader sign-in. Your live brokerage account, Rithmic access, exchange data and PropFirmConnector access are separate.

Live AMP, live Ironbeam and other Rithmic brokers

The requirement is an active live Rithmic account, not just an account at a broker that offers several feeds.

Ironbeam offers Rithmic for market data and order routing. Ask your broker to issue the live Rithmic username and password for your account. A CQG, Tradovate or Ironbeam-platform login is a different connection.

Live order check: during our September 22, 2026 validation of PropFirmConnector 1.7.7, live AMP orders worked in NinjaTrader. Ironbeam follows the same Rithmic 01 connection path; use its linked guide for the account setup.

What Rithmic 01 means

Rithmic 01 is the live Rithmic System. In the NinjaTrader connection form used here, select Rithmic 01 (Chicago).

“AMP” and “Ironbeam” identify the broker. “Rithmic 01” identifies the connection environment. You still enter the Rithmic credentials issued for your own brokerage account.

Rithmic Paper Trading is a different System. It is used for paper and many evaluation accounts. A simulated-funded prop account does not become a live Rithmic 01 account just because its provider calls it “funded.”

Using NinjaTrader 8.0.28?

PropFirmConnector 1.7.9 adds 8.0.28 compatibility through the same download used for 8.1+. Use the native Rithmic System list and Rithmic 01 (Chicago) for the live brokerage route. The 8.1 account sign-in and Multi-provider steps below do not apply to 8.0.28.

Connect your live account in NinjaTrader

1. Get your live Rithmic login. Request it from your broker. Complete any required first-login or exchange agreements, and confirm the account appears in R|Trader Pro using the assigned live System.
2. Open NinjaTrader Desktop. In 8.1+, sign in with your NinjaTrader account; it can be newly created and free. This is separate from the Rithmic login used in connection settings. In 8.0.28, skip this account sign-in step.
3. Install PropFirmConnector. Get access through the 7-day trial, download the addon from your PFC account, close NinjaTrader and follow the installation instructions. Reopen NinjaTrader and activate the device when prompted.
4. Enable Multi-provider in 8.1+. Open Tools → Settings, enable Multi-provider, then restart. Some versions label this menu Tools → Options. Skip this step in 8.0.28.
5. Add the Rithmic connection. Open Connections → Configure, add Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage, enter your broker-issued Rithmic username and password, and choose Rithmic 01 (Chicago). Keep Plug-in mode off for this direct PropFirmConnector setup.
6. Connect and select your live account. Open the saved connection, then check that the account selector shows your intended brokerage account. Sim101 is NinjaTrader’s simulation account. Connected but only Sim101? Your NinjaTrader login needs the Evaluation (Rithmic) entitlement; see Rithmic account not showing in NinjaTrader.

The broker guides above show the setup screens. R|Trader Pro does not need to remain open for this direct connection after you finish the initial account check.

One live login—or several

PropFirmConnector also lets you connect multiple separate Rithmic logins in the same NinjaTrader instance. You can keep a live brokerage connection alongside other Rithmic connections and select the account you intend to trade.

If your live account does not appear

• Check the feed and credentials. Use the live Rithmic username and password, not your broker-portal or NinjaTrader sign-in.
• Check the System. For the live route described here, use Rithmic 01 (Chicago), not Paper Trading.
• Check the account first. If the same live login cannot show the account in R|Trader Pro, ask the broker to verify access and pending agreements.
• Use the current addon. Download the latest PropFirmConnector version from your account before following older setup advice.
