Multiple Rithmic Connections in NinjaTrader: What Works

NinjaTrader Desktop’s native Rithmic connection supports one active Rithmic login at a time. Several trading accounts may share that login. PropFirmConnector lets you keep separate firm-issued Rithmic logins connected in one NinjaTrader 8 workspace; copying orders between accounts requires a separate trade copier.

Count logins, not just trading accounts

An account holds balances, positions and orders; a login is the credential set used to connect. Before adding a connection, check whether your accounts share a Rithmic username.

NinjaTrader’s Rithmic evaluation connection guide states:

It is not possible to maintain two simultaneous Rithmic connections on the NinjaTrader Desktop app.

Its prop-firm setup guide confirms that saving several connection configurations does not keep them active together.

Check each login before diagnosing the limit

With no live trades, working orders or active strategies depending on the connection, check each login separately using the firm’s documented route.

• Credentials and account track: use the issued Rithmic credentials. A firm-website or NinjaTrader password may be different; Tradovate credentials belong to a different connection track.
• Market-data agreements: complete the required agreements first. OneUp Trader’s guide makes this a prerequisite to connecting.
• Multi-Provider: enable it and restart NinjaTrader where required by the setup guide. NinjaTrader’s current instructions call the menu Tools > Settings; some firm guides call it Tools > Options.
• System and plugin settings: follow your provider’s instructions. For example, Elite Trader Funding documents its System selection, while OneUp’s walkthrough includes its R|Trader Pro plugin setup. Do not copy settings from an unrelated firm.

Use the Rithmic login guide for the credential fields and the firm connection guides for the account-specific route.

If either login fails alone, investigate that failure first. If both work separately through standard Rithmic connections but cannot remain active together, the simultaneous-connection limit is relevant. This check does not rule out other configuration or provider issues.

Multi-Provider and Multi-broker are different

Multi-Provider exposes the provider connection setup used in the firm walkthroughs. It does not override the documented Rithmic connection limit.

Multi-broker is a separate account add-on. NinjaTrader’s Rithmic evaluation guide says it is not required for evaluation-service connections. Buying it is not a documented solution for keeping two native Rithmic connections active.

When PropFirmConnector helps

An account may also need the add-on because its firm offers no native NinjaTrader route. That is a separate requirement from the number of logins; the firm’s guide identifies which applies.
