NinjaTrader 8.0.28: Rithmic Prop Firms & Live Accounts
Connect multiple Rithmic prop firms and live AMP, Ironbeam or EdgeClear accounts in NinjaTrader 8.0.28 with PropFirmConnector. One download also supports 8.1+.
On this page
PropFirmConnector 1.7.9 adds NinjaTrader 8.0.28 compatibility. You can connect separate Rithmic prop-firm logins and live Rithmic brokerage accounts in the same NinjaTrader workspace. The addon uses one download for 8.0.28 and 8.1+, detects the installed version automatically, and adds its firm choices to the native Rithmic System list.
You do not need a separate legacy provider or a second NinjaTrader installation for each login. Each account still needs active Rithmic credentials issued by its firm or broker.
What changes between 8.0.28 and 8.1+?
| Setup detail | NinjaTrader 8.0.28 | NinjaTrader 8.1+ |
|---|---|---|
| PropFirmConnector download | Version 1.7.9 or later | The same download |
| NinjaTrader account sign-in screen | No 8.1-style sign-in step | Sign in when prompted |
| Multi-provider setting | Skip this 8.1 setup step | Enable it when needed to configure other providers |
| Rithmic connection | Connections → Configure → Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage | The same connection type |
| Firm and broker selection | Native System dropdown | Native System dropdown |
NinjaTrader introduced account-based sign-in and Multi-provider mode in 8.1.1.0. Instructions showing those screens should not stop an 8.0.28 user from continuing to Connections → Configure.
Connect multiple Rithmic prop firms in 8.0.28
The video shows NinjaTrader 8.1. In 8.0.28, skip its Step 3 (NinjaTrader sign-in).
- Confirm the version. Open Help → About in NinjaTrader’s Control Center and check for 8.0.28.
- Install the current addon. Download PropFirmConnector from your account. When it is safe to close NinjaTrader, exit it completely, extract the ZIP and copy
NinjaTrader.Custom-pfc.dlltoMy Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom. Reopen NinjaTrader and complete device activation if prompted. - Check each Rithmic login. Complete the issuer’s required agreements and confirm the expected accounts appear in R|Trader Pro using the assigned System.
- Create the first connection. Open Connections → Configure, add Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage, and enter the firm’s Rithmic username and password. Choose the System in its connection guide, give the connection a recognizable name, and leave Plug-in mode and Connect on start up off for this setup.
- Add each separate login. Repeat with the next firm’s credentials and System. Save, then open each named connection from the Connections menu. Check that the intended trading accounts appear.
Several trading accounts may share one Rithmic username. Create connections for separate logins; do not assume every account needs its own connection. The multiple-Rithmic guide explains the native connection limit and this distinction.
Connecting accounts does not copy orders between them. Order copying requires a separate trade copier.
Connect AMP, Ironbeam or EdgeClear live accounts
For the live brokerage route below, select Rithmic 01 (Chicago) and use the live Rithmic credentials issued for your account.
| Broker | What to obtain | Detailed setup |
|---|---|---|
| AMP Futures | AMP-issued live Rithmic username and password | AMP connection guide |
| Ironbeam | Live Rithmic credentials for your Ironbeam account | Ironbeam connection guide |
| EdgeClear | Live Rithmic credentials issued for your EdgeClear brokerage setup | EdgeClear connection guide |
A broker-portal password, CQG login or other platform login does not replace the Rithmic credentials. EdgeClear’s documentation distinguishes Rithmic 01 live accounts from Rithmic Paper Trading; its linked walkthrough is for EdgeProX, while the NinjaTrader steps are above.
Validation on September 22, 2026: the user testing the 8.0.28 release reported successful live AMP order placement and multiple Rithmic connections, then accepted version 1.7.9 after the native System-list update. This was an AMP live-account test; separate Ironbeam and EdgeClear live-order tests were not part of that validation.
AMP’s published native-access policy restricts new NinjaTrader setups. This guide uses PropFirmConnector’s independent addon connection; it does not change the broker’s native-access policy. See live broker access and NinjaTrader licensing for that distinction.
If a System entry or account is missing
- Custom firm choices are missing: confirm the current addon is installed, device activation has completed, and NinjaTrader has been restarted since installation. Reopen the native Rithmic connection settings.
- A live broker name is absent: use Rithmic 01 (Chicago) for the live route above. AMP, Ironbeam and EdgeClear are broker names; they do not need separate System entries.
- The login fails: verify the same credentials, System and agreements in R|Trader Pro. If they fail there too, ask the issuer to check the account.
- Only Sim101 appears: Sim101 is NinjaTrader’s local simulation account. Confirm the named Rithmic connection is active and the issued account appears under that login.
For a persistent problem, send support the NinjaTrader version, addon version, selected System and exact error text. Do not send your password.
