How to Connect Multiple Prop Firms to One NinjaTrader 8

NinjaTrader 8 keeps one Rithmic connection active at a time. Its support guide states: “It is not possible to maintain two simultaneous Rithmic connections on the NinjaTrader Desktop app.” PropFirmConnector connects any Rithmic account to NinjaTrader 8 and keeps one connection per Rithmic login active together. The video connects Apex Trader Funding, Lucid Trading, TakeProfit Trader, Tradeify and Boxcar Trading in one NinjaTrader 8, then shows every account in the Accounts tab and Chart Trader.

Count logins, not accounts

Several accounts under one Rithmic login already appear through that login’s single connection. Add a connection for each separate login: a login from another firm, or a second login at the same firm. Tradovate and CQG accounts use NinjaTrader’s own connections instead. These are the evaluation and simulated-funded settings. NinjaTrader’s own System list has no LucidTrading, Tradeify or BoxcarTrading entry; PropFirmConnector adds them. A real live account comes with new credentials and uses Rithmic 01 (Chicago); each firm’s guide covers its stages.

Connect them all

1. Activate each login once. Sign in to R|Trader Pro with that login, as its firm’s guide describes, and accept the market data agreements.
2. Install PropFirmConnector once. Download it from your account, close NinjaTrader, copy NinjaTrader.Custom-pfc.dll into Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom, restart NinjaTrader and click Activate this device. Sign in to NinjaTrader with your NinjaTrader account; a free one works.
3. Add one connection per login. Open Connections → Configure and double-click Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage. Name the connection after the firm, paste that login’s username and password, leave Connect on start up unchecked, choose the System from the table and leave Plug-in mode off. No Configure option? Turn on Multi-provider under Tools → Settings → General and restart NinjaTrader.
4. Connect each one. In Connections, click each name. The light turns yellow, then green, and the earlier connections stay green. Every firm’s accounts appear in the Accounts tab and in Chart Trader’s account list, each with its own position, balance and firm rules.

Copying one order to several accounts

If an account or connection is missing

• Connected, but no account in the Accounts tab: open Help → About; it should list Evaluation (Rithmic). If it doesn’t, import the Evaluation (Rithmic) license key.
• Only one login stays connected: check that PropFirmConnector is installed and activated, that each login has its own connection, and that Plug-in mode is off.
