Lucid Rithmic to NinjaTrader 8
Lucid Rithmic accounts require PropFirmConnector for NinjaTrader 8. Select LucidTrading for evaluation or simulated funding, and Rithmic 01 (Chicago) for real live accounts. Tradovate/CQG uses a separate native route.

How to connect Lucid Trading to NinjaTrader 8 in 5 steps

Activate your Lucid Rithmic login
Use the Rithmic username and password issued for your trading account. For the evaluation or simulated-funded route, use LucidTrading with the Chicago gateway in R|Trader Pro. For a real live Rithmic account, use the live credentials with System Rithmic 01 and the Chicago gateway. Accept pending market-data agreements and confirm the expected account appears. This activation check does not require R|Trader Pro to remain open for the direct connection below.

Install PropFirmConnector
From your PropFirmConnector account, download PropFirmConnector.zip and close NinjaTrader completely. Extract the ZIP, then copy NinjaTrader.Custom-pfc.dll to My Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom. Start NinjaTrader again and, when your browser opens, click Activate this device.

Open NinjaTrader 8 and sign in
Start NinjaTrader 8 and sign in with your NinjaTrader account credentials when prompted. These are your NinjaTrader credentials, not the Rithmic username and password issued by Lucid Trading.

Configure Rithmic for Lucid
In the NinjaTrader Control Center, select Connections, then configure. Select Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage, enter the Rithmic username and password for your account, and give the connection a recognizable name. Select LucidTrading for the evaluation or simulated-funded route, or Rithmic 01 (Chicago) for a real live Rithmic account. Leave Connect on start up and Plug-in mode off, then click OK. PropFirmConnector must be installed and activated for the live connection.

Connect to Lucid Trading
Open Connections again and click the connection name you just created. A green status indicator and the account appearing in NinjaTrader confirm the connection.

If the Lucid connection is not working
- Should Plug-in mode be on or off?
- Off. Plug-in mode shares a running R|Trader Pro session with NinjaTrader, which is a different setup from PropFirmConnector’s direct connection. In Connections > Configure, select your Rithmic connection, uncheck Plug-in mode, click OK and connect again. Some firm and Rithmic instructions turn it on for their R|Trader Pro workflow; leave it off for PropFirmConnector.
- The connection is green, but the account isn’t in NinjaTrader’s Accounts tab.
- Your NinjaTrader login is probably missing the general Rithmic entitlement, so the Accounts tab often shows only Sim101. In NinjaTrader, open Help > About. The Entitlements line should say Evaluation (Rithmic); if it doesn’t, the connection can turn green without showing your accounts. Older NinjaTrader accounts don’t have this entitlement by default, but newly registered accounts do. The fix is in your NinjaTrader account, not in Rithmic or your firm’s dashboard, and you only do it once.
Correct: Entitlements lists Evaluation (Rithmic). Machine ID and User are hidden. If Evaluation (Rithmic) is missing:
- Import this license key at account.ninjatrader.com: click your initials, then Settings > Plans > Import license key. Paste the key, click Import, then close and restart NinjaTrader.
@APE-XTRA-DERF-UNDI-183T-PR45-LW27-63GE - No Import license key button, or still missing? Trading mainly with prop firms? Your NinjaTrader login doesn’t matter, so the fastest fix is to create a new NinjaTrader account with a different email and sign in with it.
- Keeping your current login, for example because it has a live account on it? Email platformsupport@ninjatrader.com with your NinjaTrader username and ask them to enable the general Rithmic entitlement.

- Import this license key at account.ninjatrader.com: click your initials, then Settings > Plans > Import license key. Paste the key, click Import, then close and restart NinjaTrader.
- Credentials work in Tradovate but fail in the Rithmic connection
- Check the data provider shown for the account in your Lucid dashboard. Tradovate/CQG credentials belong to the native route; changing the Rithmic System setting does not convert them.
- R|Trader Pro rejects the login
- Recheck the dashboard User ID and password, System LucidTrading for simulated accounts or Rithmic 01 for real live accounts, and Gateway Chicago Area. Complete any outstanding agreements. Resolve a login rejected by R|Trader Pro with Lucid before changing NinjaTrader settings.
- A newly purchased account is processing or missing
- Lucid advises allowing 15–30 minutes during busy periods; some provider activations use scheduled windows. If the account remains unavailable, send Lucid support your email, order ID and platform/provider so they can check activation.
- R|Trader Pro works, but NinjaTrader still cannot connect
- Confirm PropFirmConnector is installed and activated on this device. Recheck the NinjaTrader connection in step 4: use the issued Rithmic credentials and System LucidTrading for simulated accounts or Rithmic 01 (Chicago) for real live accounts, with Plug-in mode off. A successful provider login does not by itself confirm the add-on connection.
Copying trades after connecting

Q Which Rithmic System should I select for Lucid Trading?
Select LucidTrading for the evaluation or simulated-funded Rithmic route described in this guide. For a real live Rithmic account, select Rithmic 01 (Chicago). PropFirmConnector is required for the live NinjaTrader connection regardless of the broker.
Q Can PropFirmConnector change a Lucid CQG account to Rithmic?
No. The add-on connects an existing Rithmic login; it does not change the data provider attached to your Lucid account. Ask Lucid about the options for your issued account before assuming a switch is available or that progress will transfer.
